High Thermal Background Expected in Armenia

Due to the intrusion of tropical warm air from the south, a high thermal background is expected in the Ararat Plain, the foothills of Vayots Dzor, the valley areas of Syunik, and Yerevan from July 29 to August 2. Daytime temperatures are anticipated to reach +38 to +40 degrees Celsius between 4 PM and 5 PM. In these areas, as well as in the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, there is also a high risk of fire in the coming five days, according to the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center.

In Yerevan, no precipitation is expected on July 29. Short-term rain and thunderstorms are forecast for July 30-31 and August 1-2. During thunderstorms and in the evening hours, wind gusts of 16-19 m/s are also expected.

On July 28 and 30-31, as well as on the evenings of August 1-2, strengthened winds of 15-18 m/s are expected in Armavir, and in the foothills of Kotayk and Aragatsotn.
