Sariks Minasian to Take on New Position

In Gyumri, it has been actively speculated for two days that Sarik Minasian, the head of the Civil Contract faction of the Gyumri City Council, will be appointed as the director of the Shirak branch of HEC’s Gars division, replacing the dismissed Gagik Farzadyan. According to sources from Aravot.am, Sarik Minasian is soon to be appointed as the Minister of Labor and Social Issues of Armenia.

The current Minister of Labor and Social Issues, Narek Mkrtchyan, who is responsible for the external relations of the Civil Contract party, is set to be appointed as the Armenian ambassador to the USA, succeeding Lilit Makunts. The agreement for his ambassadorship has reportedly already been confirmed (notably, Narek Mkrtchyan's brother resides in the USA).

Sarik Minasian, who has experience working in the social sector, previously held the position of head of the Gyumri territorial center of the Unified Social Service, and will be appointed as minister.
