Russia to Close 20 Border Checkpoints with Ukraine
The Russian government has legally ensured the closure of 20 non-operational checkpoints, including those located along the former border with Ukraine. The relevant decree has been posted on the official website of legal acts.
"From August 1, 2025, to close the checkpoints at the state border of the Russian Federation that were established in accordance with the agreement on checkpoints along the state border between the government of the Russian Federation and the government of Ukraine dated February 8, 1995, according to the corresponding list presented," the document states.
The list includes 13 road and seven railway checkpoints, some of which are located in new regions of Russia. All mentioned checkpoints are currently non-operational.
