I Am a Strong Man, If Needed, I Will Fight in the Streets: Vardan Ghukasian
The Mayor of Gyumri, Vardan Ghukasian, held a press conference marking 100 days in office. In response to a question about fighting against the detention of the Shirak Diocese leader, Mikael Ajapahyan, he stated that he is prepared for various methods of resistance.
“There are different methods of fighting, and I am such a strong man that I know what to do, where to do it, and when. If it comes down to street fighting, I can certainly fight in the streets; I am one of the experts in that. Don't worry, you'll see me in the front lines. When the occasion arises, I can fight better than the baksyors (a colloquial term often used in Armenian dialects). I know the ways in which we can fight,” Ghukasian remarked during the conversation with journalists, urging them to take this humorously about Gyumri.
