GTB Holdings Deputy Director Does Not Rule Out Grigor-Ter Ghazaryan's Purchase of HEC
GTB Holdings is not involved in the negotiations to purchase the 'Armenian Electric Networks' LLC, said the holding's deputy director, Tehmine Vardanyan, in an interview with Factor.am.
GTB Holdings belongs to businessman Grigor Ter-Ghazaryan, the son-in-law of Armen Sargsyan, brother of Vazgen Sargsyan. After the appointment of a state manager at HEC, media reports continue to circulate that Grigor Ter-Ghazaryan intends to buy the company. Notably, Tehmine Vardanyan only denies GTB Holdings' involvement in the purchase negotiations of HEC, while not dismissing Grigor Ter-Ghazaryan's involvement.
“GTB Holdings is not involved in any negotiations; I officially state this, but whether Grigor Ter-Ghazaryan is having separate meetings, discussions, or negotiations, I cannot say anything about that because GTB Holdings is not the only area of activity for Grigor Ter-Ghazaryan, I do not exclude,” said Vardanyan.
It has been noted that Grigor Ter-Ghazaryan's name was associated with the potential purchase of HEC after reporters observed him making a conspicuous visit to HEC on July 24. He refused to answer journalists' questions regarding his visit or the potential purchase of HEC. Later, Ter-Ghazaryan made a post on Facebook emphasizing, “I am neither planning to acquire shares of HEC nor do I have any connection with HEC at all.”
However, the post that categorically denied the information regarding the purchase of HEC has since been removed from his Facebook page. “I can't say why he deleted it. I'm also curious why he deleted it,” he said.
When asked if this means it is possible for Ter-Ghazaryan to purchase HEC, Tehmine Vardanyan replied, “I do not exclude that. I see it from the media myself,” she responded.
