Vucic Claims Kusturica is Preparing a Coup

The President of Serbia has announced that Kusturica intends to overthrow him. Vucic has accused the director of preparing a coup d'état.

Alexandar Vucic is confident that Emir Kusturica, along with other representatives of the opposition, seeks his resignation, while they lack a common political agenda and understanding of the people's needs. “There is no difference; there is a common target—that is Vucic. They want to overthrow him, and this is their program. There is no other program,” said the President of Serbia.

It is noteworthy that earlier the director condemned the arrests of participants in political protests in Serbia, after which the tax authorities closed the 'Visconti' restaurant, which regularly hosted Kusturica's festivals.
