Let the People Give Me a ‘Padezhka’, See What I Will Do: Vardan Ghukasian on Leading Armenia
“Now this country has no work, are they working on the church now?” said Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasian during a conversation with journalists today.
“Armenia has so many problems, there are serious issues and challenges. They have set everything aside, now they want to educate on the church, they have delved into the church's rules. First, they should think about their own behavior. They used to say that transgender people have their own opinions and lifestyles that shouldn't be questioned. LGBT organizations are being legitimized, and then they move on to sanctities. I am surprised that these people are moving from one extreme to another. The Armenian nation is against this,” Ghukasian stated.
According to Ghukasian, the country needs a leader who will convert the richness of the entire subsoil into state property, increase pensions, salaries, and the budget, among other things.
“I am ready to lead the state, let the people give me a ‘padezhka’, see what I will do,” Ghukasian said.
