France Will Recognize the State of Palestine: Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced in a letter to Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas that France will recognize the state of Palestine in September.

“In line with my historical commitment to establishing a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, I have decided that France will announce the recognition of the state of Palestine. I will make this official statement during the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly in September. The urgent issue today is to stop the war in Gaza and provide assistance to the civilian population,” Macron wrote on X.
