Severe Response from Iran if Sanctions are Imposed, Says Deputy Foreign Minister
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran for International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, has announced that Tehran has agreed to accept a technical delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which will visit the country within "two to three" weeks.
He noted that Iran is coordinating its position regarding nuclear issues and the threats of Western sanctions with Russia and China, with whom Tehran has strategic relations. At the same time, the Iranian official warned that if the EU trio decides to reinstate sanctions against Iran, Tehran will respond very sharply.
“If they activate the mechanism to reinstate UN Security Council sanctions against Iran, we will respond,” Gharibabadi stated during a press briefing with reporters.
