Putin and Zelensky to Meet, Finalization of Discussions Expected: Medinsky
After the conclusion of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul, the Ukrainian side has proposed to hold a meeting between Putin and Zelensky by the end of August, as reported by TASS.
"We have agreed that in the near future, at least 1200 prisoners of war will be exchanged from each side. Russia has suggested considering the possibility of short ceasefires to retrieve the wounded and the deceased. Preparations for this high-level meeting need to be thorough. The meeting should be such that it brings a final resolution to the discussions," stated Medinsky.
Vladimir Medinsky, the Russian President's aide and head of the Russian delegation in negotiations with the Ukrainian side, indicated that Russia has proposed the establishment of three working groups focused on political, humanitarian, and military issues, which will operate online.
