Hybrid Warfare Manifestation: Armenian Government Responds to Controversial News

Some media outlets reference a publication allegedly released on July 22, which is, in reality, another manifestation of hybrid warfare and manipulative propaganda. This disinformation piece was published on the dubious Periodista Digital website, which has repeatedly come under fire for acting as a platform for the dissemination of fake identities, manipulative content, and unsubstantiated materials. This is reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Republic of Armenia.

“The mentioned article has no connection to reality. The Republic of Armenia's positions on the unblocking of regional transport infrastructures are clearly outlined in the 'Peace Crossroads' initiative. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan extensively addressed this issue during a press conference on July 16. Further clarifications were also provided by the Prime Minister's spokesperson, N. Baghdasaryan, in an interview with Armenpress on July 21. Any information contradicting the aforementioned content cannot correspond to reality,” reads the statement.

Periodista Digital reported that Pashinyan agreed to cede Syunik to the United States. “The newspaper cites a secret memorandum between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States, which is disseminated within the Armenian diaspora. It proposes to create a transport corridor known as the 'Trump Bridge,' 42 kilometers long, which will pass through Syunik and connect Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan. This was one of Azerbaijan’s main demands after the 2020 war. The management of the transport corridor will be granted to an American private company. Yerevan will receive only 30% of the revenue from using the route. According to the publication, the memorandum has already been approved in three countries. Notably, the memorandum envisions a significant deployment of US forces on Armenian territory. Reports suggest that these will not be regular American armed forces but a private military company with around 1,000 fighters. They will be authorized to use force. According to the terms of the memorandum, the private military company will maintain a special security posture along the transport corridor and be authorized to use force 'to preserve the integrity of the corridor,'” reported the Spanish newspaper.
