Abnormal Heat Expected: Weather in Armenia
In the territory of the Republic of Armenia, dry weather is expected on July 23-24. On July 26-27, scattered showers and thunderstorms are anticipated at night and after noon in some regions, with the possibility of hail.
This information is reported by the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia. It is noted that during thunderstorms, wind speeds are expected to increase to 17-20 m/s.
On July 23-26, in the evening hours, wind intensification of 15-18 m/s is expected in Armavir, the Kotayk, and Aragatsotn foothills. The air temperature will not change significantly.
In Yerevan, on July 23-24 and during the day on the 27th, dry weather is anticipated. On the evening of July 25, at night and in the evening of the 26th, and on the night of the 27th, isolated areas of the city may experience brief showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms and in the evening, wind speeds are expected to increase to 16-19 m/s.
Due to the influx of tropical warm air from the south, high temperatures are expected in the Ararat Plain, Syunik valley zone, and Yerevan on July 23-24; temperatures are forecasted to reach +38 to +40 degrees Celsius between 16:00 and 17:00. In these areas, as well as the Aragatsotn, Kotayk, and Vayots Dzor foothills, a high fire danger situation is also expected in the coming 5 days.
