Russia has lowered expectations for progress in upcoming negotiations with Ukraine in Turkey, following reports that a child was killed and more than 20 people wounded due to Russian attacks overnight.

“We have no reason to hope for any miraculous progress,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters today, stating that it is “unlikely given the current situation.”

“We intend to pursue our interests, we intend to secure our interests and carry out the objectives we have set for ourselves from the beginning,” Peskov added.
