Bayramov Discusses Peace Between Armenia and Azerbaijan

We believe there are good prospects on the path to peace. We consider it realistic to continue on this path; there are certain steps required to complete it, but the Armenian side has not yet taken those steps. This was stated by Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a meeting with his Georgian counterpart Maka Botchorishvili.

“It is necessary to hold a referendum, remove territorial claims against Azerbaijan from the constitution, and take steps toward dissolving the Minsk Group,” he said.

Bayramov also spoke about measures to strengthen trust between Armenian and Azerbaijani societies. “In general, speaking about post-conflict resolution, we all understand that it is a process. It is a path that cannot be completed in one day or in a short time. Planning and implementing measures to build trust between societies, and holding meetings is extremely important. In this context, I would like to once again thank the minister and the Georgian side for the very useful meeting held on April 17 at the level of the deputy foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia,” Bayramov added.
