The Campaign Against the Armenian Church is Not Liberation, But Alienation: Davit Ananyan
The former head of the State Revenue Committee, Davit Ananyan, has made a statement on his Facebook page:
“The campaign declared by Nikol Pashinyan against the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Supreme Patriarch has now entered the phase of actual implementation. This campaign against the Armenian Church is clearly defined in its essence. It is not about reform, but rather about denial. It is not liberation, but alienation. This has been announced and is led by an individual who has been fighting against our roots, our history, and our sanctities under the guise of false liberal values for years, in order to save and prolong his own existence, and in a deeper sense, to uproot our last spiritual bastion and the very last layer of our historical memory.”
“This is a war against our identity. And the most dangerous part is that this war is taking place in our silence. When we are silent, they are dismantling. When we are indifferent, they are surrendering, destroying and laying waste to our last fortresses. When we do not resist, they decide for us who we are, what our existence is for, and whether we are even worthy of continuing,” Ananyan wrote.
