Missing Couple Found in Lake Sevan: Details
Today, rescuers and divers, after conducting search operations throughout the night, discovered at around 03:50 in the morning, the missing couple from Yerevan, 60-year-old Emil A. and 60-year-old Arev A., in the coastal area between the villages of Zapataj and Zil.
This information was reported by Shamshyan.
According to the data from the media, the couple was transferred to the Chambarak division of the police, where they reported that when they had set out onto the lake in an inflatable boat, a strong wind had started, making it impossible to control the boat, which was then blown several kilometers away from the shore.
They did everything they could to avoid drifting away from the shore, but the wind not only did its dark work but also broke one of the oars intended for rowing.
The individuals have been presented from the Chambarak division of the police to the Sevan investigative division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia’s Gegharkunik region.
The police have also located the inflatable boat that the couple had used to enter the lake.
We remind that yesterday, on July 19, the police received information that two citizens, a woman and a man, had set out on an inflatable rubber boat from the shore near the village of Zapataj towards the depths of Lake Sevan around 15:40 and had not returned for several hours.
