Veolia Water to Appeal to Police Over Pipeline Damage Caused by Residents
An emergency incident occurred overnight, according to Veolia Water. Residents have tampered with the Ejmiadzin-Voskevaz-Oshakan-Voskehat distribution valve to redirect water towards their villages for irrigation purposes. This action led to a pressure increase in the 500 mm copper pipeline, resulting in multiple leaks and a loss of 40 liters of water per second from 6-7 locations.
Currently, the villages of Oshakan, Voskehat, and Voskevaz are without water, and there are pressure issues in the city of Ejmiadzin and adjacent villages. The Veolia team has been on-site since morning, working to address the situation.
The company is prepared to file a complaint with the police to hold accountable those responsible for the illegal actions.
