Iran Welcomes Any Initiative by Russia for Dialogue with the USA: Tehran Ambassador in Moscow

Tehran will welcome any initiative for dialogue with the USA (including those by Russia) that preserves Iran's right to enrich uranium and helps to alleviate sanctions. This was stated by Iran's ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“During Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's visit to Moscow, he said that if Russia has political initiatives, it can present them while considering our red lines, and we will discuss those initiatives. Therefore, if our friends wish to play an active role, Iran will welcome that, especially from a country like Russia, in which we have trust,” said the ambassador.

Jalali emphasized that any proposed initiative must take into account two crucial red lines for Iran: the right to enrich uranium on its territory and the lifting of sanctions. If these two conditions are met, Tehran will welcome initiatives that come from Iran's friendly countries, such as Russia and China, the ambassador noted.
