Belgium's House of Representatives Passes Resolution Condemning Azerbaijan
The House of Representatives of Belgium has passed a resolution condemning Azerbaijan. This was announced by the Armenian Ambassador to Belgium, Tigran Balayan, on his page on X.
The resolution was adopted unanimously.
“Firmly condemning Azerbaijan’s policy, it calls for the immediate release of all Armenian prisoners and guarantees a fair trial,” Balayan stated.
The House of Representatives demands that Azerbaijan ensure the preservation of cultural and religious heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh and calls for allowing UNESCO missions to enter the territory for damage assessment purposes.
The resolution also condemned threats and rhetoric from Azerbaijani authorities within the context of the “Western Azerbaijan” narrative. At the same time, the resolution welcomed the initiative for a peace treaty and emphasized the urgency of its signing.
It should be noted that as of January 17, a trial is underway in Azerbaijan regarding the former military-political leaders of Artsakh.
