Real De-escalation of Tension Expected Between Israel and Syria, Rubio Says

The U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced that the fighting between Syrian Druze and Bedouins in the southwestern part of the country has led to misunderstandings between the governments of Israel and Syria. As a result, Israel has conducted massive bombardments on targets within the Syrian regime.

According to Rubio, a real de-escalation of tension is expected in the coming hours.

“We are on the path to a real easing of tensions, and then, hopefully, we will return to assisting Syria in the recovery efforts and reach a point where the Middle East will be much more stable,” he stated.
