Iran's Parliament Prohibits Resuming Negotiations with the US
Iran must set preconditions to resume nuclear negotiations with the United States. This demand has been made by members of the Iranian parliament.
“Since the US used negotiations to mislead Iran and ensure informational cover for the Zionist regime’s attack, it is no longer possible to conduct dialogue as before. Preconditions must be set, and until they are, new negotiations will not be possible,” ISNA agency quotes the parliamentarians' statement.
It is noteworthy that representatives from Iran and the US held five rounds of consultations regarding the nuclear program between April and May. The sixth round of negotiations was scheduled for June 15. The negotiation process was frozen on June 13, following the onset of military operations by Israel against the Islamic Republic and subsequent US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. A ceasefire was established between Iran and Israel on June 24.
