New Traffic Organization Changes in Yerevan
New one-way traffic regulations will be implemented on Saryan Street, starting from Mashtots Avenue and continuing towards Baghramyan Avenue, which will encompass both Saryan Street and a segment of Moscow Street, announced Vazgen Harutyunyan, head of the Yerevan Transport Department, at the operational meeting of the city hall.
“Traffic from Amiryans, Arami, Pushkin, and Tumanyan streets towards Saryan will be allowed only to the right, heading towards Baghramyan Avenue, while from Leo and Friki streets, traffic will only be allowed to the left, also heading towards Baghramyan Avenue,” he stated.
Additionally, Saryan and Moscow streets will have one more traffic lane added. “Currently, we have two traffic lanes in each direction; however, since parking is allowed parallel to the sidewalks, effectively only one lane is operating. We all know the significance of Saryan Street and the traffic flows there. The second traffic lane is often used for stopping, parking, or dropping off passengers, which leads to complete paralysis of traffic in that direction. This change will provide us with an additional operational traffic lane, ensuring continuous flow of overall traffic,” added Vazgen Harutyunyan.
