Choose Between Helping Kyiv or Putin: US Senator Threatens China and Other Countries
Senator Lindsey Graham has informed CBS News about what he anticipates regarding President Trump’s announcement concerning Russia tomorrow. “Watch for tomorrow's announcement. I don’t want to get ahead of the president, but expect news regarding seized assets. Europeans want to limit the interest rates on assets sent to Ukraine. US Treasury Secretary Behnken wants to go further,” he stated.
“I expect to see a record flow of weapons in the coming days to defend Ukraine,” Graham added. Additionally, he believes that a bill regarding tariffs on countries buying Russian oil and other goods will be passed. However, they are not necessarily going to be 500%, as was previously planned; the US president will have the ability to adjust sanctions “either upwards or downwards.”
“He can set the rates anywhere from 0% to 500%. He has maximum flexibility,” the senator remarked.
“Congress is on the verge of passing the largest package of sanctions in this country’s history. This will give President Trump the tools he does not currently have—a real hammer. And the main culprits are China, India, and Brazil. India is buying Russian oil at a low price and reselling it. It’s disgusting. I spoke with President Trump. Last week he said it’s time to act,” Graham emphasized.
According to him, Trump wants to “force those who support Putin to choose between the American economy and helping Putin. He also said that Trump has left the door open for negotiations with Russia, but that door will be closing soon.”
