Robert Kocharian Files New Lawsuit Against Alen Simonyan
The second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, has submitted a new lawsuit against the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, demanding the retraction of defamatory false information published about him and an apology.
This is the second lawsuit filed by Kocharian against Simonyan in the past month, and it can be said to be a continuation of the previous one. This was reported by ‘Hetq’.
Upon learning that the second President of the Republic had filed a lawsuit against him and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Speaker of the National Assembly made posts on his social media pages, which became the basis for the second lawsuit.
“Robert Kocharian has sued me and Nikol Pashinyan, can you imagine? It’s not that the security personnel took me and beat me to death, nor that snipers came and shot at me, nor that armed former allies invaded the National Assembly hall and executed me, but he turned to the court to restore his 'good reputation.' The man is so out of touch that he doesn't realize no court can change the reputation he has. And then you wonder why nothing has changed in Armenia,” wrote the Speaker, referring to the thoughts expressed in a video that had served as the basis for the first lawsuit.
“I assume that Kocharian’s delicate psyche has been affected by the thoughts I expressed in that video. It is surprising that he did not turn to the court when I said he is someone with the status of a spy and is illiterate. Is he okay with that? Come on, come on,” he added, posting the video that served as the basis for the first lawsuit.
