High Fire Danger Situation in the Ararat Plain and Syunik Valleys

The Ministry of Environment has announced that a high fire danger situation is expected in the Ararat Plain and Syunik Valleys over the next five days. In order to avoid possible fires and their unpredictable consequences, the Ministry urges strict adherence to fire safety regulations.

“We remind that it is prohibited in forest areas to:

• light fires,
• throw away lit matches or cigarette remnants,
• leave rags soaked with oil or gasoline,
• refuel vehicles with internal combustion engines,
• and smoke near refueling vehicles.

Campfires are only allowed in designated areas and must be extinguished when finished,” the announcement states.
