The Meeting Between Pashinyan and Aliyev in Abu Dhabi May Serve as a Foundation for the Peace Process, Says MFA Spokesperson
We also note that the Armenian public is familiar with the Government's views on the implementation of the Peace Agenda, and all positions expressed in Abu Dhabi fall within those strategies, including the theme of unblocking regional communications, which has been articulated by the Republic of Armenia in the "Peace Crossroads" project. This was stated by MFA spokesperson Ani Badalyan.
"We deem it necessary to note that the Republic of Armenia also considers the meeting held in Abu Dhabi to be successful, and we confirm that it could serve as a serious basis for the further implementation of the peace process," wrote Badalyan.
"As a result of the meeting between the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan, both sides issued official, if you noticed, identical press releases. Beyond that, if there were any agreements regarding the peace treaty, the public would be informed about it," the statement said.
"Regarding the unblocking of regional communications, we request that you take as a basis and publish today’s official statement from the MFA spokesperson, which once again reaffirms the position of the Republic of Armenia. There is no differing agreement, nor can there be. At the same time, we urge to refrain from quoting irrelevant terms employed by the Azerbaijani press," she wrote.
