New Version of the Armenian National Anthem Published

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, as the authorized body for state governance in the field of culture, has officially published a new version of the lyrics of the Armenian national anthem and the full and shortened musical adaptations, in accordance with the amendments to the law on the Armenian national anthem that will take effect in April 2025.

The new version of the national anthem is titled “Our Homeland” (lyrics based on the words of Mikael Nalbandian, music by Barsegh Kanachyan).

The performance of the national anthem includes officially approved full and shortened versions:

  • Performed by choir and orchestra
  • Performed by choir alone
  • Performed by orchestra alone
• Shortened Version
  • Performed by choir and orchestra
  • Performed by choir alone
  • Performed by orchestra alone

The Armenian national anthem is required to be played in all public schools, preschools, vocational schools, and secondary professional educational institutions across Armenia, regardless of their ownership, every Monday before classes commence.

The anthem is performed at international official competitions and tournaments held within the Republic of Armenia, during the opening and closing of state sporting events, as well as during award ceremonies that take place during these events. Outside of Armenia, the performance should comply with the legislation of the respective country.

Additionally, the performance of the national anthem is mandatory during official governmental ceremonial events.
