Slovakia Blocks New EU Sanctions Package Against Russia

Slovakia is blocking the new EU sanctions package against Russia. This marks the second time within a week that Slovakia has obstructed the approval of new sanctions by the EU against Russia, as reported by Euronews citing sources.

“On Wednesday, Slovakia confirmed that it will maintain its veto over the new sanctions package to be applied by the EU against Russia. The veto was established during a meeting of ambassadors in Brussels, where the sanctions were presented for approval and were once again blocked,” the publication states.
