Samvel Karapetyan Sues Blogger Roman Baghdasaryan, Demanding Retraction and 6 Million Drams
Businessman Samvel Karapetyan has filed a lawsuit against blogger Roman Baghdasaryan, demanding a retraction and 6 million drams. According to the submitted claim, Karapetyan asks the court to compel Baghdasaryan to publicly retract statements made on June 18 across his two Facebook pages, which are deemed defamatory.
The basis of the lawsuit stems from a post by the blogger regarding the businessman titled, "What everyone should know about Tashir Samo..." In the retraction text, Baghdasaryan is required to write, "I publicly announce that this information is entirely defamatory, false, and unfounded, for which I apologize."
Karapetyan's lawsuit emphasizes that if it is not possible to place the retraction text on the Facebook social media platform, Baghdasaryan must be obliged to make a retraction within five working days after the court's decision enters into legal force, through any printed newspaper with a circulation of at least 5,000 copies that has distribution throughout the territory of the Republic of Armenia, publishing the same retraction text required to be placed on Baghdasaryan's pages on social media.
