The List of Reasons for Deprivation of Russian Citizenship Should Be Expanded: State Duma

The Chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, has called on the Russian government to take a more active stance in expanding the list of grounds for depriving individuals of Russian citizenship, according to TASS.

During a plenary session, the State Duma approved the bill on the expansion of the list of grounds for depriving individuals of Russian citizenship in its first reading. The bill’s authors included a group of deputies led by Volodin, including the Deputy Speaker, Irina Yarovaya, who heads the Duma’s Migration Policy Committee, as well as leaders from all factions.

“The government should adopt an active stance on supporting the parliamentary corps. Let's simply do this work together,” Volodin stated during the State Duma plenary session.
