Germany Demands Clarification from China
The Chinese ambassador to Germany has been summoned by the Foreign Ministry, where the German side expressed its protest regarding a laser attack on a German aircraft operating in the Red Sea. This was reported on social media by the German Foreign Ministry.
"Targeting German personnel and disrupting operations is absolutely unacceptable," the Foreign Ministry stated in a post.
The German Ministry of Defense claims that the aircraft was subject to a laser attack by a Chinese warship "without any reason or warning." As a precautionary measure, the aircraft's mission was canceled. The plane landed at a military base in Djibouti. There were no injuries among the crew. Later, the aircraft resumed operations in the Red Sea in coordination with the EU mission.
