Floods in Texas, USA
The central regions of Texas, USA, particularly Kerr County, have been affected by floods resulting from heavy rainfall. According to meteorological services, between 130 to 280 mm of precipitation fell in the area within just a few hours.
The water level of the Guadalupe River rapidly rose by 8 meters, leading to the destruction of coastal infrastructure and floods. Witnesses have shared videos showing the powerful water flows carrying away vehicles, residential transport units, and trees.
According to preliminary reports from authorities, at least 50 people have died as a result of the natural disaster, including about 15 children. More than 800 individuals have been evacuated.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared a state of emergency in the state and ordered the mobilization of National Guard units to carry out rescue operations and address the aftermath of the flooding.
