The European Union is ready to conclude a trade agreement with the United States, which is currently being negotiated in Washington by the EU's Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, Maroš Šefčovič.

This was announced by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, during a joint press conference with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in Aarhus, who will lead the EU for the next six months. At the same time, she noted that the EU is prepared for the possibility that the parties may not reach an agreement. "In other words, all tools are ready to be used," von der Leyen stated.

The agreement with the US is very important for the EU, von der Leyen emphasized. It involves a trade turnover of 1.5 trillion euros, which is very large in volume and complex in content. According to her, Europe continues to discuss with other partners. "That is why we want to see results during this presidency," she said.
