Details of Putin-Trump Phone Call

Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. leader Donald Trump discussed the situation surrounding Iran and the Middle East during a phone call. This was reported by Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the President of Russia.

“The situation regarding Iran and the Middle East has been discussed in great detail,” Ushakov said.

Ushakov also added that during the phone call, they discussed the possibility of exchanging films that promote traditional values between the two countries.

During their conversation, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump also addressed the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, among other issues. Ushakov informed reporters, “Naturally, the Ukrainian issue was also discussed. Donald Trump again raised the necessity for an immediate cessation of military operations. In turn, Vladimir Putin noted that Russia continues to seek a political and diplomatic resolution to the conflict.”

According to him, the Russian leader provided information on the progress of humanitarian agreements reached during the second round of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations in Istanbul and confirmed Russia's readiness to continue the negotiation process. Putin also emphasized that Russia will consistently achieve its objectives aimed at eliminating the well-known root causes that led to the current acute confrontation and will not retreat from these issues.
