Iran's Foreign Minister on the Recommissioning of Nuclear Facilities
Iran's nuclear facilities have sustained serious damage due to strikes conducted by the United States. This was announced by Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in an interview with CBS News.
“No one knows for sure what has happened in Fordow. At this point, we know that the facilities have been seriously and severely damaged. Iran's Atomic Energy Organization is currently assessing and analyzing the situation for the government,” he said.
The diplomat noted that there is no precise information regarding the extent of the damage. “We need to wait for the assessments to determine whether it is possible to recommission the nuclear facilities or not,” he pointed out.
Iran's Foreign Minister added that according to the religious fatwa of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, “Nuclear weapons have no place in Iran's defense doctrine, and they are also forbidden from a religious standpoint.”
