Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Deems Russia's Conduct Unacceptable

The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikhail Evdokimov, has been summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This information comes from the official website of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“During a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov, the Azerbaijani side presented its complaint regarding unfriendly actions and measures that disrupt the relations between the two countries. The attention of Russian law enforcement agencies has once again been drawn to the deaths of our two compatriots during searches conducted on June 27 in Ekaterinburg in homes inhabited by Azerbaijanis, as well as to the illegal actions that inflicted serious bodily harm on our citizens during those searches.

The Russian explanation of the incident contradicts the evident signs of violence on our deceased compatriots' bodies and the expert conclusions,” the statement noted. It emphasized that manifestations of ethnic intolerance have been observed in Russian media regarding the searches, and the use of expressions like “ethnic criminal group” towards Azerbaijanis is unacceptable.
