Armenia Will Harm Itself with This Move, Says Russian Foreign Ministry
Armenia is shifting towards the West, often to the detriment of its national interests, for instance, by withdrawing from cooperation with the Collective Security Treaty Organization. This was stated by Dmitry Masyuk, deputy director of the CIS countries department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, as reported by TASS.
“We feel the destructive influence of the West in Armenia. With deep sorrow, we observe that this South Caucasian republic is not resisting these changes and continues to orient itself towards the West, often at the expense of its national interests. A specific example is Yerevan's withdrawal from cooperation with the CSTO,” Masyuk remarked.
He noted that the potential of this organization is significant for ensuring stability in the region.
