The Attack on the Cathedral is a Shame for Our Nation: Gegham Nazaryan
“Both the detention of Bishop Bagrat and the detention of Mikayel Ajapahyan are a personal tragedy for me,” stated MP Gegham Nazaryan during a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly.
“We need to shake ourselves and understand what kind of moral and psychological state we are living in that we witnessed such an incident and action. I have no comments, I would rather this were a dream and I wouldn’t have seen armed individuals in uniforms taking decisive action... Thank God they retreated at some point, and we avoided greater disgrace. Although it is already a shame for our nation,” he said.
“Every person is accountable to God for their decisions, so whatever orders the authorities give, it doesn’t matter; it is the individual who makes the decision. I do not believe that there is any pressure; ultimately, one can write a resignation letter and leave the job if they feel that they have been given an obviously illegal order,” the MP stated.
According to Nazaryan, the attack on the cathedral is a shame for our nation.
