It’s False. No Inspection Will Be Conducted. Rubinyan
During his speech at the National Assembly, Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan stated, "In other words, the claim that the inspector is granted the right to conduct an inspection is false."
"Regarding the proposal, are you discussing whether the increase in transportation fare is good or bad? We are not discussing that. The matter at hand is whether a fine should be imposed for a violation of an existing rule, or not, that’s all," he said.
"According to the proposal, if a person does not pay and refuses to identify themselves, the inspector will appeal to the police, who, in any case, have the right to identify the person," Rubinyan clarified, refuting opposition lawmakers' claims. He also noted that the discussion in the National Assembly is not about the fare amount, but rather about the issue of holding accountable those who do not pay the fare.
