Record Heat Recorded in Europe
In the Spanish town of El Granado near the border with Portugal, temperatures have reached +46°C. This is a record temperature for Spain in June, according to Euronews.
In London, a maximum of +35°C is expected on June 30, marking the highest temperature recorded since the beginning of the year. On the same day, the Wimbledon tennis tournament will open in the UK capital.
Germany has also reported temperatures around +30°C and higher. "It is a very hot and dry summer. Drought may return to Germany," said meteorologist Dominik Jung to the Bild newspaper. According to the publication, some areas in Germany have already imposed watering bans during the day.
