Trump Announces Possible Ceasefire in Gaza

U.S. President Donald Trump has informed reporters that a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas may be established as early as next week.

“I think it’s close. I can’t tell you what has happened. I’ve just spoken to some people who are involved in the negotiations,” Trump said, without specifying whom he spoke to.

According to Al Jazeera, Trump's comments are the only indication of potential shifts. Israel officially refuses to discuss ending the war, and there are currently no ceasefire negotiations taking place in any country in the region.
