Hyper Mall Power Outages Are Outside of Electricity Network's Jurisdiction

On June 25, during the official opening of the "Homplex" mall, an interruption in electricity supply was recorded, which is outside the jurisdiction of the Electricity Network of Armenia (HETC). In the statement by HETC, it is noted that "Homplex" is supplied from two directions, neither of which belongs to the Electricity Networks of Armenia; one is owned by "Karitas" company, and the other by the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

Although the company had no obligation to resolve the emergency, considering the importance of the issue, it activated four repair brigades during the incident, which addressed the outage.

Today, at 1:54 PM, another power outage occurred during events at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, resulting in approximately 40 percent of Yerevan and part of the city of Ashtarak being without electricity. This outage was caused by an incident registered at the "Shahumyan – 2" 220 kV substation, which is owned by the High Voltage Electric Networks company. This incident also falls outside of HETC's area of responsibility.
