Hungary Blocks Ukraine's Access to EU Structures
Ofelya
During the European Union summit, a clause in the draft final declaration supporting the launch of EU membership negotiations with Ukraine has been blocked by Hungary. This information is stated in a communiqué released by the European Council following discussions on Ukraine and in the draft final document of the summit.
"The draft of the final declaration has received full support from 26 out of the 27 EU member states. The European Council will address this issue at its next session," the document states.
It is noteworthy that Hungary had previously declared that it would not support Ukraine's membership in the European Union under any circumstances.
