Trump Will Join Negotiations in Turkey if Putin Attends

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced that U.S. President Donald Trump is willing to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Turkey to discuss the Ukraine issue. According to Hurriyet, Erdoğan made this statement during a conversation with reporters on his way back to Turkey following the NATO summit in The Hague.
Erdoğan stated that Trump has expressed a readiness to visit Turkey if Putin also makes the trip. According to Erdoğan, Trump conveyed the following words: “If President Vladimir Putin comes to Istanbul or Ankara for a resolution, I will come to Istanbul or Ankara.”
Erdoğan added, “We will hold the necessary negotiations, and I hope we can realize the meeting as soon as possible.”
