The Security Council of Georgia to Be Dissolved

The Parliament of Georgia has approved amendments to the "Law on National Security Policy Planning and Coordination" in its third and final reading, which provide for the dissolution of the country’s Security Council.

This was announced on the official website of the Parliament of Georgia.

According to the amendments, the National Security Council will be dissolved as of September 1, 2025. It has also been established that the Government of Georgia will serve as the coordinating body for national security policy planning, as stated in a press release from the Parliament's press service.

To facilitate the dissolution of the National Security Council, a special commission will be created, the composition of which will be determined and its powers defined by the government.
