Temporary Export Ban on Several Agricultural Products
Edita
Wheat, meslin, barley, corn, millet, sunflower seeds, and sunflower oil will be subject to a six-month export ban from Armenia. This decision was made during today's Government session. According to the reasoning behind the decision, domestic production of these goods does not meet the demand in the Armenian market, which is primarily supported by import volumes. Thus, the decision aims to ensure food security and stabilize the economy of Armenia.
It is noteworthy that the Armenian Government had previously decided in November 2024 to impose a temporary export ban for six months, which will conclude on July 4, 2025. The current proposal seeks to extend the export ban for an additional six months.
