Cement Import from Third Countries to Armenia Banned for an Additional 6 Months
Edita
The government held a meeting today where it was decided that the import of cement from third countries to Armenia will be banned for an additional six months.
The production capacities of Armenian cement manufacturers amount to approximately 2.5 million tons, exceeding the domestic market demand for cement, which ranges between 1.4 to 1.5 million tons.
The purpose of this decision is to regulate the import of cement from third countries and to create equal conditions for both locally produced and imported cement in the domestic market.
It is worth noting that as per the government's decision dated November 28, 2024, restrictions were already imposed on cement imports for a temporary period of six months.
