Aliyev and Pezeshkian Held a Phone Conversation

Today, a phone conversation took place between Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev and Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian. This was reported by the Azerbaijani leader's press service.

Ilham Aliyev reiterated Azerbaijan's stance on the confrontation between Iran and Israel and expressed concern about the escalation of the situation in the region.

The President of Azerbaijan conveyed condolences regarding the deaths of Iranian citizens during recent events and wished a swift recovery to the wounded.

During the phone conversation, the two leaders exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral relations between their countries.

In the course of the conversation, Ilham Aliyev again invited Masoud Pezeshkian to the summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, which will be held in Azerbaijan in early July.
