The spokesperson for the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, has expressed hope that there will be no new escalation between Azerbaijan and Armenia. According to Peskov, the countries are very close to finalizing work on an agreement.
“We hope that this work will be completed. This agreement is very necessary for the stability and security of the situation in the region,” said the Kremlin spokesperson.
Peskov reminded that Russia is ready to do everything necessary to facilitate this process if needed.
As a reminder, in March 2025, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to sign a peace agreement that includes 17 articles and stipulates mutual recognition of each other’s borders and territorial integrity.
