New Changes for Foreign Citizens Entering Russia

The Embassy of Russia in Armenia has announced that the government of the Russian Federation has approved the voluntary nature of filling out applications for entry into Russia by foreign citizens using the "ruID" application.

The absence of a completed application will not affect the implementation of border control and will not be grounds for entry denial. At the same time, the embassy requests that it be noted that completing the entry application through the "ruID" application will grant foreign citizens a number of advantages aimed at ensuring their comfortable stay in Russia:

• The ability to verify the presence of entry restrictions to Russia as provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia;
• Simplification of stay in Russia through the creation of a digital profile of the foreign citizen based on the information contained in the application;
• Reduction of administrative and other barriers when receiving state services (for example, when obtaining voluntary health insurance, registering as self-employed, etc.);
• Automatic registration of the СНИЛС necessary for signing a communication contract (when purchasing a Russian SIM card); and
• Ensuring future full electronic interaction with state bodies and organizations.
